Saturday mornings are a parisienne’s lazy day of preference (when the kids are at their grandparents, bless them), that calls for large amounts of coffee, Netflix binging and DIY face masks.
La parisienne loves natural solutions to anything, dull skin included and knows how to remedy that. She keeps her face recipes close to her heart and isn’t much in for routine changes usually.
Here you can find a small, bathroom quality video of yours truly applying the mask and looking 50 shades of yellow :
I for one have various routines depending on the problem at hand and lord knows they vary *dramatic eyeroll*. I have one that I don’t stray from where I do face masks twice a week, usually the first one is a purifying clay mask (I use this one from Caudalie) and one that I make with what I have in my pantry depending on my skin’s current drama.
Today is one of those days where I want to do something to make my skin brighter and reduce inflammation and dark circles that had me secretly praying snapchat filters were a real life accessory *Le sigh meuf. LE SIGH*
For that I have a 3 ingredient recipe that I swear by and you most likely will too and you probably also have these 3 ingredients in your kitchen!
Here is what you’re gonna need :
A grandpa pajama bottom (for style ya know.)
A disgusting T-shirt
Turmeric (1 teaspoon)
Raw honey (1 tablespoon. Organic preferably)
Mix all 3 ingredients thoroughly until you get a smooth paste (you dont want it do be dripping from your face and stain whatever you’re wearing).
Turmeric has many many benefits besides being amazing in your Friday night curry. It has been used for generations as an antibacterial agent and has anti aging benefits and the list goes on and on and on… It is amazing to brighten the skin, calm redness and improve skin elasticity so honestly why isn’t it your best bud already ?!
Simply and lazily apply it all over the face (under eye included) and let it sit until dry. All that’s left for you to do now is wash it clean with your usual face wash and enjoy that glow girl!
Disclaimer : I am NOT a dermatologist so this is something that works for me (and many others).
Make sure you are not allergic to any of the ingredients needed for this mask.
Don’t forget to tell me how it worked for you in the comments below!
